Well I wasn't sure if I was going to get to post this this year..... But Finally the Lillooet River is in shape and fishing is ON.
The water has not been high, but muddy and our early scouting trips saw water that was either unfishable or only marginal. We had cold nights and no rain previous to a couple of trips but still the water was low and colored. There was reports of a slide and though there were many hours spent trying to confirm this rumor I was unable to get a solid answer. The good news it that now it is March and the weather is starting to warm and bugs are starting to hatch and soon the fry will too. The trout are all there and nobody had fished them for almost a year.
On our last trip we finally saw the water fishable and it looks like what ever it is that muddied the water has blown through The fish were in a lot different water than where we normally find them, though the bites were HARD and the fish were HOT.

I have received a number of requests lately of people who would like to "trip share" a trip up the Lillooet. If you are interested please have a look at the specials page on the front page of this diary.
